Dr. Abeer Al Namankany

Dr. Abeer Al-Namankany completed her PhD on 2012 at UCL-Eastman Dental Institute, she has interdisciplinary skills who specialises in hypnosis and paediatric dentistry. In her youth, she has won six Distinguished Clinical and Research Awards. She has been a chairperson and speaker in more than 40 international conferences.

She is the author of a textbook (Dental Phobia & Anxiety: A guidance for a better management: Non Pharmacological Behaviour Management), and several publications in reputed journals.

 

  • In 2015 she has been recognised by the British Council as one of the top ten Saudi graduates from the UK.
  • In 2013 to 2017 she has been chosen as one of the top 500 most influential Muslims in Science and technology.
  • In 2012, she has been recognised as one of the top 10 Saudi women achievers by the Saudi press.
  • In 2013, she has been recognised as an academic leader by the American Organisation of Wise Muslim Women.

She is serving as an editorial board member and a reviewer many journals. She developed a new standard to measure dental anxiety “Abeer Children Dental Anxiety Scale (ACDAS)” and its’ Arabic version, which makes her the international paediatric dentist in the non-pharmacological management of children dental anxiety. She is a possessor of acute health science research methodology skills including Systematic Reviews, Evidence Based Dentistry, and randomised clinical trials. She is also a social activist and a children’s and women’s rights activist. She wishes to continue contributing to the world of clinical research and services for worldwide betterment. She is working now as an assistant professor in paediatric dentistry and the vice dean of the deanship of library affairs at Taibah University; Consultant paediatric dentist and Hypnotherapist at the Saudi German Hospital; and a staff and Academic affiliate at University College London-Eastman Dental Institute.
